Aigle is opening a new chapter. Known since 1853 for its handcrafted rubber boots made in France, the brand is unveiling Lifeproof, a vision of footwear rooted in its heritage. Inspired by the performance standards that shaped its iconic boots, the collection combines technical innovation, freedom of movement, and style in silhouettes designed for everyday life, whether in the city or on more demanding terrain.

Developed from over 170 years of expertise, the models incorporate several proprietary technologies: ENRGCORE for cushioning and energy return, TECHNISUPPORT for torsion control, and DURACOMP, a high-resistance rubber compound for grip. The collection is built around several silhouettes. The FLOWLITE embodies a new generation of outdoor sneakers for daily movement, while the TENERE ICON marks the return of a hiking model from the archives, launched in 1990 and reinterpreted for the season. Its TENERE GTX version adds a GORE-TEX membrane, and the TREK, equipped with a Vibram sole, represents the most technical offering in the range.
To support this transformation, Aigle has enlisted Chris Kyvetos, a recognized figure at the intersection of product, retail, and culture. Co-founder of Sneakerboy and currently Head of Group Brands Architecture at Frasers Group, he is leading the new footwear direction based on three pillars: functionality, technical design, and cultural relevance. "Aigle possesses the one thing this industry cannot manufacture: one hundred and seventy years of earned authority. The task is not to reinvent it, but to make footwear the place where that is felt most clearly," he summarizes.

Lifeproof also introduces a new graphic symbol, "The View of the Eagle", inspired by a mountain ridgeline seen from the sky. This initiative is accompanied by the opening of the brand's archives, featuring a selection of posters and catalogs spanning the period from 1974 to 2020.
True to its roots, Aigle continues to handcraft its boots at its Ingrandes-sur-Vienne site, where more than 270 master rubber craftsmen carry on a process involving over 60 steps. Lifeproof models are priced between 120 and 220 euros.
