On April 4, 2027, the Marathon de Paris will celebrate its 50th edition, one month after the HOKA Semi de Paris scheduled for March 7. As registration opens, Cadence Running United, which will organize both races starting in 2027, is announcing several major changes.
The most significant change concerns how to secure a bib. The Marathon de Paris and the Semi are now among the largest races in the world, with demand far exceeding the number of available spots. To address this, general public access will now be determined by a lottery, a system already adopted by most major international marathons. This gives every applicant an equal chance, regardless of how fast they register. Lottery entries are open from September 8 to September 30, 2026, and the date of registration has no impact on the odds of being selected. General public bibs are priced at 169 euros for the marathon and 79 euros for the half-marathon, with the option to register as a group of 2 to 6 runners: if one member is selected, the entire team gets their bibs.
Two new initiatives are being introduced to improve accessibility. "Dossards Passerelle" (Gateway Bibs) are offered at a reduced rate (50 euros for the marathon, 25 euros for the half-marathon) for individuals with limited financial resources, subject to proof of eligibility, with 1,000 bibs available per race. "Dossards Engagés" (Charity Bibs) provide guaranteed entry by supporting a partner charity, with a fundraising goal set at 420 euros for the marathon and 210 euros for the half-marathon.
Another major change: after a 17-year partnership, ASICS becomes the title partner of the marathon, which will now be known as the ASICS Marathon de Paris. This naming rights agreement extends a long-term relationship and comes with a refreshed identity for both races.
Through these changes, the organizers share a common ambition: to enhance the appeal and quality of the runner experience while further integrating the races into the city. It is a way to bring both Parisian events in line with the standards of the world's greatest international marathons.
