ACG, the outdoor line from Nike, presents the Picklejus, which the brand describes as its best offering for mountain trail running. Born from three years of collaboration with elite trail runners on the sidelines of Chamonix competitions, the shoe answers a specific question: how can we help athletes conserve energy on climbs, protect their legs on descents, and stay confident for over 100 kilometers in the high mountains?
The core philosophy is a refusal to compromise. While traditional trail shoes often force a choice between protection and performance, the Picklejus seeks to combine both. To achieve this, it debuts the very first ZoomX co-molded, dual-density supercritical foam platform for trail running. The soft core provides cushioning and efficiency, while the firmer outer rim offers the stability and support usually provided by a plate. Both foams act as a single integrated platform for natural transitions on the most technical terrain. The updated Flyknit upper, featuring support cables and hydrophobic fibers, keeps the foot dry and secure, while a gaiter-inspired collar prevents debris from getting in.
The biggest innovation is the GOATEKplatform, a unique grip technology designed for one of the greatest challenges in trail running: running with confidence on constantly changing terrain. The outsole promises 45% more grip on wet surfaces and 25% more abrasion resistance compared to Nike's previous all-terrain outsoles. This figure was validated through five phases of testing, during which athletes covered nearly 29,000 kilometers on rugged trails.
Notably, the Picklejus is the first ACG shoe developed by the Nike Sport Research Lab, the epicenter of the brand's high-performance creation.
