For the most anticipated trail running event of the season in Reunion Island, Intersport is getting into the rhythm of the race. From October 14 to 18, the brand is setting up in Hell-Bourg a Base Campdesigned entirely around the runner experience, alongsideACG, the high-performance outdoor apparel brand from Nike. Preparation, understanding the terrain, equipment, recovery, and sharing: for four days and one night, Intersport aims to support the trail community as closely as possible to their practice.

Because an ultra-trail doesn't start at the starting line. It is prepared weeks, sometimes months in advance. In Reunion Island, this preparation takes on a special dimension, as the terrain forces runners to constantly adapt: steep slopes, elevation gain, humidity, heat, mud, or night running. It is in this demanding environment that Intersport has imagined an experience dedicated to trail culture, with the ambition of being useful to participants at every stage of their effort.

The choice of Hell-Bourg is no coincidence: it accompanies a first in the history of the Diagonale des Fous, as the route passes through Salazie. By setting up its Base Camp in the heart of the cirque, Intersport positions itself as close as possible to this new stage. Designed as a temporary field station, the site is organized around several areas: an Intersport space, an ACG space dedicated to discovering equipment such as the ACG Zegama and the ACG Radical AirFlow, a recovery area with compression therapy and cold baths, and a relaxation and refueling zone. The Base Camp will also welcome runners' support crews, whose role is essential throughout an ultra.
"Trail running perfectly illustrates what we want to champion at Intersport: a practice that belongs to everyone, regardless of their level," explains Zeid Sadar, head of the brand in Reunion Island. A conviction that extends into stores, as for the first time, Intersport Réunion has been hosting an ACG selection in all its island outlets since October 1st.
Through this initiative, Intersport seeks to go beyond its role as an equipment supplier to provide concrete support to athletes in the field.
