It is a partnership few would have imagined. Blundstone, founded in Tasmania in 1870 and renowned for its rugged Chelsea boots, has joined forces with Pop Trading Company, an Amsterdam label rooted in skate culture since 2013. The result: three limited-edition models that reinterpret an iconic silhouette without ever betraying its essence.

The project began not with a sketch, but with a material. The collaboration explores the tactile qualities of full-grain cowhide, intentionally highlighting its natural variations, markings, and unique character. Each pair is therefore different, enhancing the exclusivity of the series. Starting with this leather, the two brands evolved the project through a series of treatments and applications, resulting in three distinct interpretations of the classic boot: models #2620, #2621, and #2622.
The connection between the two brands may come as a surprise, but it formed quite naturally. Ric Van Rest, founder of Pop Trading Company, has been wearing Blundstones for over twenty years, much like many of his friends in construction and hospitality who have made them their go-to everyday footwear. It took more than three years of development to create a boot that is both durable and stylish, designed to get better with age. For Blundstone, the project also marks an entry into the world of streetwear—a space the brand had not yet explored in its 150-year history.
The playful spirit of the project is captured in a campaign directed by Patrick Louwerse and photographed by Woody Bos, which depicts an unlikely friendship between a man and a miniature pony, reflecting both brands' shared interest in items made to be worn and lived in every day.

The collection has been available since July 22 at the Pop Trading Company flagship store in Amsterdam, at select Blundstoneboutiques, at specific retailers worldwide, and on blundstone.fr.
